Internship in Latvia!
Read the story of Oksana who did her erasmus+ internship in Latvia!
To start with, let me introduce myself; I am
Oksana Yastremska, a recent graduate of VGTU from faculty of Engineering,
department of Urban Planning. I would like to share my
impressions from postgraduate Erasmus + traineeship in Latvia.
I was lucky to spend two fantastic months of
my life in small Latvian town Adazi. It is an amazing town with lovely nature.
The city is located close to the Latvian capital Riga, so it is very easy to
reach it.
I was doing my internship in Latvian logistic
company “Portman and Co”.
The main activity of the company is
international cargo transportation, customs and warehouse services, logistics,
expedition, and also transportation over the sea.
The company's professional team is developing
optimal and profitable schemes for the delivery of client's valuable cargo.
Certified, with great practical experience, specialists of “Portman and Co”, in
a short time find a solution to almost any complex and unusual
situations. Also, the staff is advising clients on customs and tax issues, and
help with their immediate decision.
During my mobility I was responsible for implementation of tasks: supporting annual audit process; learning about the
transportation and supply chain industry; mastering the tools needed to perform
tasks, e.g. Excel, StrategIQCommerce.com; filing/organizing/sorting company
documents; processing invoice aging reports and so on.
It was a pleasure to become a part of closely
knit and friendly collective of the company, To explain more accurately my colleagues, they were friendly people who were ready to help at any
time and to make your stay more enjoyable in their native country.
The tasks which I received from my supervisor
were clearly determined. I have got all the materials and instructions for the
uninterrupted working process. I had a work room, which I shared with two
other employees. Generally, Latvia is an amazing country by a culture and
beautiful nature.
To take the opportunity to participate in Erasmus+
internship program is a fantastic idea to get necessary work experience, to
receive new useful knowledge and to go out from your comfort zone. And to get out of your comfort zone it is the very first step to your life success!
