Internship in United Kingdom "Eden Devco LLP"

Gytis Jakimavičius student of the Faculty of Electronics sharing his internship story advising those who are planing their international career soon.

Advice for students:

- Use services provided by the university career center to polish your CV and motivational letter. Ask them to simulate an interview. Can't recommend this enough;

- Don't overlook smaller companies or startups. You will work closely with C level people and get more responsibilities;

- Erasmus grant should be enough to cover your basic needs, but you can try to ask (politely) your receiving institution or organization to cover at least part of your accommodation or commute costs. Those might get quite expensive in bigger cities;

- Look for shared accommodation for lower cost and better social life;

- Don't immediately discount an internship offer if it overlaps with your studies. Reach out to your professors for the possibility to attend lectures online or to learn on your own. That should not be an issue in the post-pandemic world and you might get some discounts as well if your professor is keen. In my opinion, you shouldn't worry too much about missing some of the lectures or getting worse grades. In the long run, internship experience will be more important.
